I'll help a little here since I've been gathering parts for my upcoming system.

I don't believe any adapters will be necessary to swap the speakers. They are all 6x8s.

Running speakers off an aftermarket amp while still using the factory deck (sucks, I know), you'll need a line output converter (LOC). The David Navone NE-774V LOC seems to be the most highly regarded LOC out there. I have one coming in the mail right now.

Any other questions, let us know.

P.S. Here's an awesome diagram utilizing an LOC (disregard the sub part). Here he used a PAC OEM-2 LOC instead of the Navone NE-774V, but it's the same install.

Ive been going through and modifying my stereo and will share a few things I have learned.

First, buy two sets of speaker adaptors. When you disconect the factory speakers there is a little plug thing on the end of the factory wires. Some people cut it off and wire in the new speakers. This works but if you ever want to remove your speakers and return to stock, say when you sell the car, you have to splice these little ends back onto the factory wires to hook the stock speakers back up. circuit city carries these neat little things called speaker adaptors, the name is Metra Ford Speaker Harness 72-5512, the metra part number I believe is MET DW5512SH .
They come in pairs and plug right into the factory plugs and hook sttaight up to the speakers. No splicing, taping, soldering, heat shrinking etc. Very nice. I replaced all four speakers in my car with my fiancees help, and two sets of speaker adaptor in less than an hour and fifteen minutes.

Four bolts to take the back seat out, and two retaining clips,

three screws for each front door and some retaining clips

Very easy job.

take care and good luck :salute:
