I got brand new Monroe Struts on my car about 5 months ago. Now i need new springs. I heard that Eibachs will tear the Monroes up, so what should i use? Where do i get stock springs (part numbers are same for regular and SHO taurus at NAPA, so i don't trust that). Does anyone know what i should get, or where i should get them? Keep in mind i am a poor college student! Thanks!

Wow, you should have asked that question before you installed the Monroe struts. You are going to repeat the exact same labor to install the springs as was required to install the struts. You need to stick with the stock spring rate with those stock damping struts. Why do you think you need new springs now?

The stock SHO spring rates are ; front - 200 lbs/in, rear - 130 lbs/in. A lot of the '94-95 SHO's got the SLO 100 lbs/in rear springs and that way they tend to have a sagging back end.

Hahaha My '89 has original springs with 152,000 miles. It has a severe case of "Saggy Ass I will end up just replacing the rear springs with the Moog coils. The fronts seem fine.

Yes, i realize i was a ******* before in not putting springs in when i put the struts in... but that still doesn't answer my question. What springs? My car sags like a 90 year old woman. The rear fender lip is about an inch and a half down the tire. The guys at tuffy said that they would put the springs in, and at the same time give me some new struts... so i can get just that much more use out of them. But what springs? Please! Someone?

another member on the forum replaced their stock rear coils with Moog cargo coils and posted a picture after, showing height from ground to center of wheel well. it measured 24". on my 91 with stock springs, it measure 24 1/2". check your height before you go with new springs.

Not only the rear springs, but also later models got SLO fronts. Mine have 155lb/in, for example.

I had monroe's on my car and they really suck! One on the front actually started leaking and they were on for less than 3 years. Go with tokicos and eibachs, you won't be dissapointed.

Whatever your driving style, you will find that Tokicos with Eibachs will be by far the best in the long or even short run, since the stock sucks so bad. After all the SHO is designed to handle better than a boat!
Even my 86 year old mother likes the improvement, more stable all the way around, no sagging even when I put a small UHaul trailer on from Sacramento to Seattle, does not tip on curves, big bumps do not cause the suspension to bottom out, and as its progressive its very very smooth on good roads and progressively resists bottoming out on bad roads. You live with the suspension every minute, so the improvement really feels nice all the time, and increases confidence!
