What Parts Should I Salvage??? Pictures linked

Hey I have the two SHO's that I can strip for parts locally and I know I'm getting the drivers side door from one, but someone told me to get a few more parts off of them while I can. Can anyone recommend what I should take off the cars? The Intake was suggested as something I should get.

I would like to know what to get as well as my local pick your own parts yard has 2 sho's one a red 3.0 mtx still has trans in it and a and pretty much complete car and a white 3.0 mtx with missing trans pretty ragged out. The red one wasnt in too bad of shape body wise. I need parts for 2 atx 3.2's and was hoping there is plenty I can use between the 3.0 and 3.2. Would it be worth my time to pull both engines and piece them out and maybe grab the one tranny as well? What else should I get while they still have them as they dont keep track of inventory they just keep cars for 45 days and then crush them and get more cars in? Both pretty much had all ignition removed and the one engine hasnt had much stripped off it and the other one the engine has had some stuff stripped off.

your best bet is to go thru the wanted to buy section of this forum... see what ppl are looking for and if the cars at your pick a park has them grab them up, then when you get home you can PM everyone and tell them you have the part they need... if all else fails you could always e-bay them for spare cash is no one on here needs them. Or hold them until someone here is having a emergency (so about everyday) and then you can say hay I have a part if you need it. It's always nice to know you have all these people ready to help out with knowledge and parts in a split second. And trust me some here may remember when you say or do something stupid, but they will never forget when you help them in a pinch.

I was going to pull stuff I could use or would need a spare of later, but that is a good idea to see what others might need. I'm going to take the camera with me this weekend to get pics of the cars. Should I be looking at pulling anything off 3rd generation cars like brakes, anything from Mark VIII's, or other cars that have things that can be used on my 93 ATX SHO?

PPL are always looking for the "96 upgrade" parts for their breaks, (calipers, rotors and such) and if you were to go out and buy new around here its gonna cost you a few $$. we pull whatever looks in good shape.. I know right now we are looking for one of the little cubby hole pieces ( with the flip down door) that go under the radio. you can get those out of a Taurus or a mark VIII. any Black interior pieces for the 2nd gens. guys always want those.

Anything thats SHO only and relatively easy to remove. Dont spend 2 hours unbolting something worth 5 bucks.

Look on ebay for the aproximate prices , what sells , what not.

Depends what your future plans are. I would take the intake if I were planning to get it honed and/or bbb's. If you need a tranny or are planning on alot of internal engine mods maybe the longblock. Also depends on pricing.

Definitley grab ALL of the following:

MAF sensor
Fuel pressure regulator
Cam sensor
IAC motor
Computer
idler pulley
intake(if you can)
DIS
plug wires(if visibly good)
Coolant resevoir
the huge fuses near the firewall

All of those are very simple to remove, and you will eventually need them for yourself, or to sell. Most of them are eaily over $50 new and some are much more.

Pricing is very good on the parts at this yard since its a 'You Pull It' place. I know I saw several Mark VIII's and a few Mustangs, so I will check them for parts. I need to look for Gen 3 SHO cars as well.

How hard should it be to pull the drivers door and the dashboard? Anything I should know about taking the intakes off? I think I'm going to try and take off the rear view mirror from a Mark VIII. The seats in the Silver SHO at the yard are kind of bad, but the head rests looked to be good. If either of the SHO's are 95's I will get the computers from them. What else should I be looking for?

from what I hear dashboards are hard to pull, I've never tried but I think there was a recent thread about pulling it. last time we were at the junk yard a friend of our pulled all the IRCM's out of all the contours and Duratec Taurus' he e-bayed them and made a decent chunk of change.

Ok, went back out to the "you pull it yard" and got the driver's side door off the Silver 95 ATX SHO, the ECM, radiator reservoir, and a few other small items. I also found some nice things for my Mustangs.

Is there a SHO under the hood guide somewhere on the net? Something with pics outline some of the components you guys listed i.e. MAF sensor, Fuel pressure regulator, Cam sensor, IAC motor, DIS, Blower Control Motor. I wasn't really looking to sell anything unless I don't need it, but the two SHO's are 90% intact. I have a 93 and someone mentioned taking the knuckles off the 95 that I found and using them.
