I just went with the motorcraft plugs. But since they're discontinued, I used the platinum finewire's. They work great. Get them at Autozone or the dealer.

There are many posts about this topic, so the Search feature can be your best friend. Personally, I use NGK plugs, and have been very happy with them. Not sure of the part numbers, I'm sure someone will chime in..

The best proven way to not have any issues, get OEM ones or the new fine wires that replaced them.

Bosch spark plugs and Ford DIS/EDIS ignition systems don't go together very well.

Like Marcel said, if you stick with OEM (Motorcraft) then it's no longer a guessing game - the plugs will work fine, period.

Autolites are probably the next best thing (Autolite and Motorcraft plugs are made at the same plant, btw).

Bosch plugs are garbage in the SHO. They caused misfiring in my best buds SHO. The best plugs to use are the OEM. Some others are pretty good, but I've only used OEM's.

Hard to put in...not really...just takes some time. If you have replaced plugs before and have those tools with an extension or 2, you can do it.

You can get them from all kinds of places (motorcraft plugs). I got mine for $30 shipped I think it was from ford parts network.

U can get them from the W body store and the rears are doable if you use a u joint with an extension on the ratchet

What eliw said for the rears. Personally, I have had the set of extensions and use various ones for each of them depending upon how I can cramp my hand in there. (I dont remove the intake like others suggest to make it easier. Although it does, its more time consuming.)

The fronts are cake.

taking the intake off takes all but 3mins. and 27secs....
that is with a 3/8'' impact to take the manifold bolts off.... call it cheating if you like....
new record......

In Josh's case...it would be quicker just to remove the intake. I find the bolts are easy...its those pesky vacuum lines and hoses...or do you just unbolt the intake and move it to the side with all the hoses still attached?

Prop's on the time :thumb:

If it were me doing a plug change, it would depend on if it was my car or someone elses car. I would take the intake off my car just to make sure everything is ok under it (i think a valve cover is leaking a little (rear)) but if it was somebody elses, I wouldnt take it off. An extension with a u joint would work just fine.

on the rear plugs there is one bracket on the back i removed and i reached them all with ease with the right combination of extensions... i might have used a universal joint for them i cant remember.

I used Bosch plugs as well for 30,000 miles and they performed well. But went to Autolite double platinums last time and the difference was very noticeable. I'm not sure, but I think they are very close to the discontinued Motorcraft plugs, which as everyone says are the best if you can find them.

And if you have never taken the intake off before, be sure to mark all the little hoses and stuff so you get everything back in the right place. And don't worry if it takes you 3 hours instead of 3 minutes...just do it right...lol.
