On the stock Ford t-stat, there is a small adjusting screw. What is this there for?

I used to know this, probably from the days of reading the registry, but I've lost so many brain cells, I can't remember. Can someone please refresh my memory for me?

Hmm. Adjusting screw? I dont remember if mine had something like that, but my Motorcrap replacement one had two 'jiggle valves' at the top of the T-stat to let air out of the engine's cooling passages.
Are thoes what you're talking about? :)

Witch City, baby! Salem,
No, he's talking about a slotted set-type screw at the back of the main valve...right?

I was wondering the same thing when I removed mine.

Anyone with ideas?
