Wanted to check w/ guys and gals who live in desert climates what is the highest "normal" temp you've seen on your Gen3 V8's? I'm assuming you have an OBDII scan gauge to get a numerical readout (like Scanguage). I was told that if temps reach 230 things start to fail. Not sure if that is entirely correct.

Anything over 215 is starting to get too hot imo. You should about around 200 with this car give or take fans on and off.

My cooling systems (2 cars) struggle here in the high desert. Summers especially with high humidity makes things worse. Last summer things hit 122°F and averaged about 110-115°F, coupled with a 40-50% humidity as it sucked it out of the depths of the ground. My cars struggled when going up hills, had to turn the A/C off sometimes.

Normal coolant should be below 208°F. If your car is able to maintain below 217°F and you can keep the A/C on your doing good. When ambient temps get below 105°F things become much more manageable.
