What does THIS sound mean?

This has been going on for about 2-3 years. I brought it up to the local Ford dealer; they said it wasn't anything
important. But in the last six months, it's been getting louder. The sound is originating from the little vent that you see in the video; it's somewhere under the dash.

EDIT: Can't upload the video...system says it's too big. The noise is a grinding sound from the little vent right by the ignition button.

Not sure of the technical name but I think it controls the auto temp sensor inside the car. I think there is little fan in there. Gently blow some compressed air in there probably full of dust. Put a light up to it see if it is dusted over.

I was hearing that noise also and noticed a ton of dust in there. Used a vacuum cleaner and sucked it all out. Looks like that’s used to measure the ambient temperature inside the car.

It is affectionately called the "bacon dispensor" and it does measure cabin temperate.
