Hey guys, new to the forum here. Just wanted to see what you think about my sho. Its a 98 with 112k on it currently, a new tranny from ford put in at about 95k. Other than the fact they cant seem to align the front end up and the car chewing the insides of the tires off, it been pretty good. Heres my car domain sight. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2394038

Nice audio equipment

Do you have the factory radio or a custom mount.

I ran the stock head unit for a while, and got sic of the crappy quality and poor cd quality as the stock cd changer was gone, and had to us a changer over the fm modulator. Ive since wired my alpine head unit into my armrest and just have to do some more trimming to get it to sit where I intended. Ill grab some pics later this week and show you what i did. I think the hardest thing to get going was the remote turn on for the cd player and the 2 amps im running currently.

ya my tires are getting chewed up on the insides and a lil cupped on the outsides, my grandpa always told me that Ford have a tendency to cup, but wear on the insides like this? really weird...

Cams welded? It would be a shame to blow up the motor in such a pretty car! :bonk:

What springs do you have in the car? All Tauruses ever made (not counting the re-badged Five Hundred models) suffer from too much negative camber as the stock springs sag, lowering springs exacerbate the problem. If your car does not have camber plates or a really competent person doing the alignment, your camber is always going to be way out of whack. Plus, you really need to get the car aligned 2-3 times a year to keep everything in check since with New England roads one good bump can futz up the alignment pretty good.

http://www.nesho.com can help you out with the cam welding and get the car into proper alignment. The car in this picture is lowered yet aligned perfectly:

No welded cams yet. Tough at the moment to scrape up $750 for that. Been die'ing to drive down and get it done, cause i know my intake is really bad. The secondarys only open some of the time, and only in the summer. In the winter they never open.

As far as what i know about the springs is that they appear to be stock. I do know that the ford garage (where i used to work) said the camber plates were maxed, but it wasnt enough to bring them fully alligned, just "close".

Im currently trying to put an 86 ****** on the road so i dont burn up the tires putting tons of miles on them or send a valve down into the motor. Its my dd now and heading twards putting 25k+ a year on it if i dont get something else on the road.

Also have added a moon roof rain deflector to finish off the accents to the car. The only thing left that i wanted to do was get some wheel adapters so i could put my 96 cobra rims on the car, as they have a crome/ black accent to them and would really finish off the cars appearence.

I recently had the same problem. I had both ball joints replaced and they replaced a wheel bearing too and that seemed to take care of the problem.

Not a big fan of the graphics but to each his own. I like the audio setup though :thumb:

Thanks phoenix! But its not a capri.... Its a stang. The few and elusive 82 GT. Ill post some more pics in a second.

Most people love the graphics, a few dont. I think it helps seperate my sho from the rest and from the slo's running around. My wife hated it at first and said if we bought it, they wernt going to stay on, but i kept delaying and now she likes em.

I did just do a bearing assembly on the driver side, and that made tons of difference on the road noise from what i thought were the tires. Ill have to have the ball joints checked. Thanks!

Here's the stang. Its my project car. I blew the 302 in it, and have a 351w on the stand that only needs a few more things before it goes in.

That car is mean looking. Could you please give the specs on how the car is lowered (springs) and the size of the rims and tires? Also, do you know if the car beside it is also lowered, and are those the stock (chrome) wheels that are painted?

The wheels that I am talking about are on the silver car that is beside the black one. The wheels look like our Gen3 chromies, only with the spokes and cente painted black. That's my take on 'em anyway.
I really want black wheels with a polished lip on my black car.
Would lowering the car using the "strut" method give a look similar or the same as the black car pictured?
