I just recently replaced my dis module that my mechanic told me needed to be replaced.before my car would surge at steady throttle on the freeway.now it doent do that anymore and the mechanic said he cleared the codes and everything is fine.ok,so i pick the car up as they were closing and when I turned the car over is took longer than normal to start, then when it started it had a wonky idle and wood rev up and down between 0 and 2grand on the tack?I was like wtf.so I talked to the mechanic and he said just drive it see how it does.so now the thing comes up with a crank pos sens code, and intermitantly the cel will come on and the engine will fumble till the light goes out.they already replace the dis module, the o2 sensors when they put in my new y-pipe,decarbonized the hole intake trac:throttle body maf intake runners the works, now they want too charge me more should I take it to someone else cause every time I take the car there they fix one thing and then something else happens.think there full of it! what do you guys think? :frown:

How does it run on the street with throttle? Does it only stumble coming off throttle and at idle? Does it accelerate smoothly?

Check for leaks around the intake, airbox, maf areas. Be sure runners are clamped tight and check the torqe (very low torque- like 100 in-lbs) on the upper intake. Clean MAF and reinstall taking care to get a good seal on both sides of the MAF. Check PCV llines for cracked rubber or disconnects. Take it on the freeway and drive it hard to purge that intake cleaning chemicals and bits.

My first thought would be the CID sensor, but with a CPS code I would also wonder about that. How old are those sensors? Also, when was the last time your plugs and wires were changed? Their is obviously a ignition sensor or ground problem, but bad plugs and wires can only make that worse.

I wouldnt know how old those sensors are being that I bought the car with 130,000 miles on it.didnt think about the cid sensor but that could be a possibility.I made the mistake of trying to put alot of bolt on mods before doing basic stuff like a 60k service done.thats what you get for being un-expeirenced and young :nut: now I am pretty much broke and I have a bunch of good exhaust stuff and a hd clutch but the car is running like a pos.I really love these cars tho,its weired I have always been into cars and the ones that I own but this car is special it hits redline fast and is comfortable, but it seems to be a maintnace nightmare.thanx :)

I would disassemble the intake and put it back together to be sure there are no vacuum leaks. Make sure all the hoses are attached and aren't pinched. Maybe a crank sensor but usually when they crap out they stall the car. Check the plugs and wires for fouling?
