Price is not bad. Not a Performance Package, if you care about that, but looks in good shape. I traded mine in about 6 weeks ago with 82K miles and got $12500.
tranny fluid and rear too?Looks clean enough and newer set of good tires for the price. I would do all the fluids at the mileage without a history that it was done. Maybe see if you can run the VIN through a Ford dealer for maintainance records.
Are you local? I work not to far from there.
Too many of them do that now.unfortunately not that close, and actually its 17k the fine print says 14995 after $1999 down sneeky. i really dislike car dealers for resons like that.
At that mileage and unknown history I would. And PTU.tranny fluid and rear too?
Not too much different than any other car. Leaks, funny noises, odd accel/braking, natural gas smell is a sign of PTU issues. I’m no mechanic but have half a clue and if I can work it into the schedule I’m close enough that I would meet you out there if you wanted to take a look.also having never drivin one im not sure what to look for. i was hoping to find one for sale on this forum.
It is widely considered the weak point of the drivetrain. If it’s working fine your best bet is regular fluid changes however it should be noted if you don’t plan on doing it yourself you may have trouble having a shop willing to do it or not charging you an arm and a leg.im hearing much concern about te PTU how big a prob. is this, should it have been a ford recall?
Power Tranfer Unit. It is the tranfer case that sends power to the rear.Call me dumb, but what is a "PTU"?
