The amount of PSI a Turbo pushes if one has No boost controller?

I.E. You throw a Turbo on your SHO, No boost controller yet. You threw a T3/T4 Hybrid on there with a Internal wastegate....What kind of PSI would you be seeing? Does that depend on the Wastegate and what it is Pre-set to by the Manufactuar?

Thanks.

if it has a internal wastegate then that is what determins the PSI, however any given turbo will produce dif amounts of boost from one motor to another. the vacuum line to the waste gate tells it when to open and close, a old trick was to install a threaded sleeve with a spring and a ball bearing in it in line with the vacuum line, you could preload the spring so that it took more pressure to push the ball bearing open thus allowing for slightly higher psi then the waste gate was allowing normaly.

This is where knowing the turbo map comes into play.

Diesel's were run like this for some time (and some still are)... running no wastegate, just straight turbo... the term eludes me right now.... :nut:
