Its a 95 ATX green right now but so many little nicks and on the driver side just in front of the spoiler looks like someone throw a book bag against it (maybe this cause the scratches look like they cam from zippers). I was thinking black and I’m going to get the windows tinted. Oh ah, the inside is tan.

If I was going to spend the money to do a color change, I'd go with a color that isn't already found on a SHO. Black? Just buy a black one!

How about Tangerine Orange (a la '96 Mustang) or Canary Yellow (a la '95 Mustang) or Charcoal grey (a la recent Maxima).

****, if you're going to go black splurge and do something similar to the Mystic Black on the '96 Cobra. Would look bad-ass on a SHO.

Later, and good luck!

Mystic Black? It is more green than anything else.
I also agree. If you are having the car painted a different color, go with something unique. Also, be prepared to spend a fortune(if you can't do it yourself) to have all the door jambs, under hood, under trunk painted to match.
If you want to go the cheaper route, have the car repainted the factory color... it won't cost you nearly as much.

Its just the Mystic paint job. Mystic is much different than standard automotive finish colors in that it carries no conventional pigment. It is expensive paint and not all companies will do that paint work. Not to mention that BASF is no longer producing Mystic. There is a restrictive procurement process in place (See Ford TSB #95-16-3).

You would want to sit down with the Shop you wish to have do the paint job. They have books with all the paint colors that their paint providers offer. You can search through them and look for the color you want.

BTW - BASF also did a Mystic Gold. It looks awesome. ( http://mysticcobra.net/ )

Good Luck....and show us some pictures when you have this completed thumbs_u

Go for something different. The Pearl color on the new Cadilacs and toyota's is beautiful. It looks like white paint with little metallic silver/green/blue chips in it. It would probably be an expensive paint job, but it would look sharp and original. Or you could also flame-job it.

Even better, Paint it black and tint the windows as black as they make it. Then airbrush a scene with a dragon overlooking a lake with mountains in the backround. Oh crap, I thought we were talking about what color to paint a full size van.

I love the blue colored Gen II SHO's. I know there were two different blues and I can't remember which one I liked better.

Go to a body shop and look through the color books they have. Each color has a code, so they can mix and shoot. I found Super Sonic Blue to be a very sharp color for my Gen 2. When the lighting is right, it is blue, then purple. It is a very sweet color.

if it were me i wouldnt change the color, just cause the fact, u pop the hood and you would see the old color, the only way to do a complete color change is to completely strip the car. looks like ****, now if you were goin a similar color, i think it would look ok. mines white now, but im going pearl metallic.

Agreed, I was assuming he was going for a full color change. Body-only repaints look .. well, you get what you pay for. A full repaint is EXPENSIVE unless you know someone and want to strip the car yourself.

dude I think flat gray (darker than the silver and not have any metalic) is awsome on GEN II. I know its not green, but hey :) it would look awsome.

Well here is my .02 - You obviously like the SHO, because you are wanting to repaint it instead of get rid of it - Food for thought - How long are you planning on keeping it? My take is I truly believe because of the limited production run, the popularity, the truly unique design, and the decreasing number of SHOs on the road that this car will be a "classic" in about another 15 years. Granted thats a long time, but something to think about. I ALWAYS believe vintage autos are should be painted original colors. Anyone can put a custom paint job on a car, but it takes a real affection to appreciate the metallic browns and greens many of the late 60s/early 70s cars were dressed in from the factory - The green GEN II SHO really screems for the lost decade of the 90s - look around, remember how popular that color was? - Just don't see it on much after the turn of the century. A thing of beauty - paint it original.
