5HP to the crank if your lucky, I usually get an aftermarket intake installed on my vehicles. But I never look to gain performance wise, the sound tricks you into thinking you are faster.
I was trying to be optimistic![]()
That money would be put to better use saved up for something like a Y pipe.
Do you have Dyno Numbers to prove otherwise? No? Cool.
Stock Airbox > ANY CAI.

According to a large number of forum members. Not sure why you'd argue this, it pulls cold air from the fender as opposed to most CAI that pull air from the engine bay.
Im assuming your argument will be that you can make a CAI that pulls air from the fender as well, and flow better. But fact is, how much of a HP gain is that going to make? id venture to guess 5 if your lucky. doesnt seem worth it money to HP wise to me. iirc, someone had a dyno graph w/ no filter or box at all where it was only 1 hp better than the stock filter/airbox. based on this, I struggle to understand how any other intake could be worth 5 hp.....
steel will heat soak and you will increase your intake temps.
because putting an open element air filter in the engine bay without a good heat shield will actually degrade performance.
