what clutch!!

hay yall I have a 90 SHO and was wondering needing to repace my clutch cable and was wondering if there is any distenct way to tell if the larger clutch kit was installed after the recall. I was hoping i wont have to remove the trans to fuigure it out.
thanks for any suggestions

You can find out by removing the starter. I believe there is a right up on shotimes.com and if not, someone can explain. I rememebr something like 3/4" of pressure plate, after the flywheel for the 9 3/4" clutch, and a flat thin pressure plate, like 1/4" after the flywheel for the 9 1/4" clutch. However, it's rare to find the old style, but it happens.

If you call your local ford dealer and give them your VIN #, they can tell you if there are any outstanding recalls due to your car.

The odds of you having the original 9 1/4" clutch after 15 years is slim to none. I'd wager that yours has been replaced in that time period, and if so, with the recommmended 9 3/4" stock Valeo clutch.
