What are your suspension options.

My friend and I were talking the other day and his friend is a member of the Northwest SHO club. We were discussing how he races his SHO, and how many others do. The reason why the conversation came up was because I was talking about a coilover setup I made for a Saturn S-series, and how it was random application. But anyways, this conversation lead to another conversation with one of my other customers and he stated that you guys are in the same boat as them and you guys can only run Koni with GC inserts. Is that true? Are there any forums that deal with SHO's that race, specifically road race? I didn't realize people raced SHO's. But that's what I am here to find out. Thank you for allowing me to be a member here, I would just like to find out more about SHO's.

Yes Konis are the only thing that can handle Ground Control Coilovers. I am trunning Intrax springs with Konis.

There are many people that race their SHOs. At the SHO Convention we road race and I think there was arpound 40-50 SHOs running.

Those coilovers you have for the Saturns look sweet.

I run the Koni inserts with the Ground Control coil over's. It's awesome.
Coilover's with anything other than Koni's = JUNK!!!!!!!!

Happy to have my GC/Koni setup with stiff bushings and a few other tricks. There is no other way to go considering that a coilover setup is only $200 more than a set of new springs.

An SHO is an awesome entry level track car. Very easy to drive and easy on the wallet when you wad the thing up in turn one. Race long enough and you will lose a car or two.

A stock SHO with basic track equipment like mine will terrorize the typical cars found at a track event.

Mechanically Solid SHO- $1500
Misc. spending- $500
Track rubber and wheels- $1000
Suspension- $1200
Quaife(...)- $1400
Safety/interior- $1000

Go fast for under $6500. Not much can compete for that much investment.

I am another SHOwner that takes my car to the road courses. In fact, I hardly ever drive my SHO on the street any more, unless I am traveling to/from the track.

My 92 also runs the Koni insert / GC setup.

Ok, so that is what the people have told me when I've discussed about making a system for the SHO. It seems that you guys are happy with the options you have. The Saturn guys are also budget minded and it makes for a great car too. But there suspension options are limited just like with your cars as well. So they came to us to have a coilover system designed. First time out, went 3 seconds faster than his previous setup. Also has won 1st place at all his events I believe. But anyways, it seems like you guys have no need for something like this. I'll have to do some more research. Thanks.

So AMR Engineering, where exactly are you from? Your profile here says the Philippines. Your myspace says Seattle & Western Australia and your IP traces to Vancouver.

Forgive me for being suspicious but things like that send all sorts of red flags up and I'm sure I'm not the only one who is wondering.

BTW, if any of you track your cars, you might be interested in the results from our Saturn coilovers, this car races in the STS class. http://www.team-crm.com/ Like I said, there options were also limited to sleeve type coilovers such as the GC. Nothing wrong with them, but there is always room for improvement. These guys are budget minded as well. I just thought there would be more interested in something like this for the SHO's.
