Just finished putting the Ole 92 back together (did all the routine stuff and gaskets from covers up)

When I was putting it back together I noticed a few things... for one, there are a bunch of unhooked sensors that I have to figure out. Secondly, there was 2 things in hooked (pictures)

So....
Where does the vacuum line go, what is this cable and is there a 1992 sho repair manual I can buy?
Thanks all!

That hose runs down to the charcoal canister. At the base of the radiator near the drain **** you will see a ****** connecting a hose running along the radiator support. That's where that hose connects.

That cable is your cruise control cable. It connects to the throttle body to the right of your throttle cable. The end of that cable will almost touch the bolt securing the coolant hose to the side of the intake when it's installed.

Good deal. Makes perfect sense.
Thanks bud!

There's a sensor on that vacuum hose. Is that needed?

it is not a sensor, its a solenoid. that solenoid turns on/off the canister venting. you can eliminate the solenoid and just let it vent all the time if you want - I've done it and everything still passes emissions just fine (unless you fail the visual, which they don't look for that in CO but may other places).

Did you simply remove the solenoid and connect the vacuum straight from canister to manifold?

I just found this. Seller claims it has SHO specific information. Can anyone confirm?

I have the same one, that is the Ford service manual for the 1992 Taurus and has information for all models (including the SHO). If you can find the electrical and vacuum manual as well, you will be set. That is a pretty good price even though it is used. You could order it from the dealership when you bought your car (back then).

just put a hose connector on to connect the two pieces of hose that would have gone into the solenoid. or better yet, replace it with a new piece of not-rotted-out hose.
