Welding Cams?

1) Is it fullproof?
2) Does it affect the engine in any negitive way?
3) Where in Illinois can I get this done on my 1998 atx SHO?

It is not fullproof, but better than nothing. The only effect it will have is if it is not balanced. You want the weld to mainain the balance that is there. A lot of ppl are making a pilgrimage to FPS but if you can find a trustworthy welder there, see if they will tackle the job. The guy I bought my 97 from had taken everything off and had a wleder he knew come on site and do a spot weld (three on each) I plan on examining the cames when I hit 100K (at 81K now)

So thats FPS huh. Thats Doug Lewis's company right? How much does it cost to get them welded there and do they offer any sort of coverage on thier work?

~$400 and no guarantee. There is a guy in Michigan doing them. I think they weld them in Madison WI too.
