Question for the owners of welded cam cars or guys welding them. How you are guys documenting that the cams are welded. After 30 straight days of work, finally got some days off and welded the cams today and now have to replace a exhaust manifold on my 97 expedition.

I haven't had mine done yet but I know Kirk and a few others take pictures. As that is really the best way.

I think taking photos is the most way, and is what I did, but as a buyer, that is really not enough as they could be anyone's. As a buyer, you need paperwork of the job specific to the car or you need to take off the covers and look.

I wrote the vin on a piece of paper and took pictures of the welds with the vin before reassembling.

I guess that sort of proof could be "forged" but it would be about as big a hassle to forge it as it would to just weld them.
