Weird noise

This is hard to explain but when I turn my key to on position or as my car is running I’m hearing this weird noise coming from inside the dash near the radio. Sounds like a loud clicking noise similar to the doors unlocking sound? It repeats itself like every 5 seconds

It's not the power locks? Alot of us used to get a malfunction when one of the door switches was failing from getting wet/and or worn.

Maybe the blend door actuator? Sound travels ...

Never fully failed on my 95, but on hot days, it was LOUD.

Yeah Idk. I been driving these SHO since 2007 owned 3 V8s and I never heard this noise before. It started to happen after I changed my alternator too.

I've never had one fail on a GenIII but I don't know what other moving parts are behind the dash other than blend door actuator or motor.

I would also guess bleed door actuator. They get louder over time, I have noticed. Though some are load when new, as I have found on my Jeep and on my Porsche. The coincidence in timing with the alternator change is a bit concerning, though. Can you hear it from outside the car with the hood up when listening in the area of the alternator? If not, back to bleed door, and you are just at the moment listening more carefully, having just done under hood work. The brain does stuff like that.
