I disagree. If it were easier, it would have been accomplished.
Less expensive? Sure, could be. But until someone is driving a powerful boosted SHO with a reliable alternate transaxle, then you can't say it's easier.

For me, time is what I do not have much to spare. I can't make more time, but I can make more money. So the expense in terms of dollars might be more, but the expense in terms of my time, much less, and this I like.

Scott Kreitemeyer adapted the Mazda 5-speed to his '96 V8. Sure, maybe not stronger than the SHO MTX, but it has parts availability. If I were into modifying SHOs, adapting another tranny would be my first project.
