To remove the wax trim your trim you can use, what ever you dress your trim with, or use a pink eraser.
For a decent wax that you can get locall look for S100, you can generally find it at a local Harley shop.
Once a year I clay the entire car, then I apply the Meguires sealent to feed the paint,
Then I apply Meguires Nxt Tech Wax. After 24 hours or more apply another coat of Tech wax. You will be shocked at how great the finish looks. Then after you wash the car spray the booster on and the car will look like it was just detailed all over again. For the rubber trim I use 303 Aerospace Protectant. Just put some on a rag and work it into the rubber, it will take any wax off with some elbo grease. There is a web site for detailing your car www.properautocare.com
If you go there they can advise you as to other products and ways to detail you car.
Any 100% carnuba wax that does not contain cleaners will not leave a residue on trim. P21S (same as S100 mentioned earlier) is a good example of this. The trade off is that to get the best results with these types of waxes you should go over the paint with a pre-wax cleaner first.
www.autopia.org is the only place you will ever need for all your car detailing questions.
There are a number of excellent carnuabas on the market, I choose S100 because it is available somewhat locally, also the using sealants will also not stain your trim.
If anyone is looking for anyfurther info on either sealants or pure carnuabas, feel free to stop into www.detailcity.com ,there are always plenty of people willing to help
S100 works well, but it's tough. I just did my car with it, and I used their cleaner as well. Funny thing is, it never occurred to me to use the same stuff on the car as I use on my Harley. Nice results, but it doesn't leave the same smooth feeling as the Meguire's Gold Class. I got a lot of haze with the S100, but a squirt or two with Quick Detailer cleans it up nicely.
It will help if you clay the surface first.
Also if you spritz the applicator with some QD it will help you apply you wax thinner and make it easier to apply and remove.
