hmmm....well the flush i did was just with the hose. You attached the hose to part of the heater core hose and then it flushes it out. I didn't try any super flush or anything. If a passage was clogged, how could i get it cleaned out? I used the 50/50 mix by the way. Any ideas?

mmmmm yummy look what i found in my coolant recovery tank. I'd say there is some potential for nasty things to be hiding in some ppl's engines.

Okay I gotta ask. What is the purpose of this post? Is the car overheating or is the gauge just reading differently? When I swapped out the factory pump on my 95 along with themostat my "gauge" read slightly higher as well. This by no means indicates my car is overheating. I believe Scott already asked the question:
Have you actually measured the temperature to determine that you have an overheating problem?
I've learned not to take the Ford OEM gauges as gospel. Check it out and then post the temps.
Good luck

it isn't "overheating" but it is about 30 degrees higher than what it used to be. It used to register about 180-185 or so and now it will read 215-220. And yes, I did install an aftermarket gauge.

I'd say there's the potential for some real nasty things if the woman of the house sees that you put that in her sink! :D

Air bubble sounds like a distinct possibility...A friend of mine had one, and he chased that gremlin around for 6 mos. He replaced gaskets, thermostats, hoses. I believe he even consulted with Miss Cleo bs , and made burnt offerings(read $$$). NOW , this is the strangest, at the DEALERSHIP , they actually stood his vehicle on end, the theroy being that said bubble would rise to the top. Well he bit, no luck. Finally, someone with good sense(mua') simply over-pressurized his cooling system, and basically bled the air out. Just a thought. Oh, if you do want to try the whole "stand it on end" thing...Post pictures! :D Food for thought! Eric
