Guessing its not supposed to do that, or is there supposed to be a slight bit of play? It's not noisy and doesn't make any sounds when running. 22 second-ish mark you can visibly see movement.

Thanks!

Here's the deal,

It was a "new" (not reman) waterpump I installed ~30,000km ago. Timing belt and tensioner are all new. I'm checking everything over now while the temperatures arent too cold, + so I will have time to get parts if needed. I really don't want to throw money at it unless I have too. Just checking the car over to make sure its safe.

I have a 14 hour trip home on Christmas eve. There is a 4-5 hour stretch of the drive with 0 cell service (driving through mountain passes) and the temperatures are likely going to be in the -40's around that time. I live pretty far North; Dawson Creek is mile 0 where the Alaska highway starts.

Having a waterpump fail on that trip would suck immensely. So, if thats somewhat normal for a waterpump I'll leave it, but if its abnormal and a sign of failure then I'll replace.

This is a manual right? If so, I have switched out the water pump without tearing it all the way down. Not highly recommended but it can be done.
