Hey guys. I did the mod a few days ago on my 2014 non pp SHO, by doing both. I love the sound, however, I notice at times, while under light load, the car sounds like it's having an allergic reaction by sounding like it's having a sneezing fit. Is this normal? Should I convert one back to normal? Please advise. Thank you!

Are you letting off the pedal a bunch? I know they're really touchy and open up the second you let off the throttle even a little bit. So if you were to lightly let off the throttle a couple of times in a few seconds it'll make the sound multiple times. If you don't think that's the case then possibly a boost leak, or a bov isn't closing all the way.

I've experienced this a few times...
It only happens when I come off the pedal what feels like 1/32"!
Very touchy throttle.
I came up on a Mitsubishi Evo yesterday and spooled hard unloading the pressure next to him... He looked VERY confused.

Yeah that's normal, it releases as soon as the throttle drops off. Unless your under full load then you have to let off a good amount before it does it.
I have had a lot of confused looks myself, even more so when they try to take off and get left looking silly.

It seems to me that since I have done this mod, the car isn't as powerful as it once was. As much as I love the sound, I figure I will undo the mod this week to get my SHO running the way it did before.

Did you properly cap off the holes on the intake?
I've had mine VTA for 6 months now and with only a tune I beat a 2015 Mustang GT in 2 0-80 runs :dribble:

Just trying to confirm, are you guys taking about the VTA mod the guy with the Flex did? I thought I remembered someone saying it wouldn't make any louder sounds on our car... But after read your post, I must be confused (again) ;)

I bought my SHO with every intention of leaving it stock, but I guess if it's your blood!? I've done the CAI and Livernoise V8 tune and getting ready to go all out... But this VTA thing is one I missed!

I'll go read the thread again now... Would love to see a video with our car in it and not a Flex?

Thanks,
David.

There are a lot of SHO videos with the VTA mod. I first did the front BOV since, as others have mentioned, it is a lot easier to do than the back one. There was some BOV sound with the front one done but it was about 4 times louder with both of them done.

Thanks for the reply and without sounding like a complete noob here... I guess this was the statement I read that made me think it wasn't necessary: "On the SHO we already have the PFFFFT because of the "noise generator". Mine is sitting in the trunk since it's been replaced with an HKS SSQV III BOV."

My next noob question is... Does Mike also have a Flex also? I'm getting confused tonight but it looks like Mike created this write up?: http://ecoboostperformanceforum.com/index.php?topic=343.0

Going to sleep now but after just watching a couple vids, I'm going to add to my build either a VTA cheap mode or maybe adding the aftermarket BOV's?
