I doubt there'd be much of an increase at all. maybe a slight rise in low end from the longer runners, but otherwise, it'd be like kicking a dead horse. as for the butterflies, I've scoured teh interwebs with nothing to show for it. I don't even see two ports going into the head on the intake side of things from that diagram.

From the cut aways I saw, it doesn't look too dissimilar, just bigger boar (4.2 liters I think), and it doesn't have secondaries of course.

Anyone else notice on the cutaway of the back valve cover that there is a little spring mechanism in between the serp. belt; anyone know what that is?

The original V-8 intake that's very similar to the V-6 version needs to be scrutinized IMO. The question begs why wasn't it used?

clearance would be my guess, especially in the front of the engine bay. but i totally agree. think we could talk Doug into giving someone measurements to have one made?

probably nothing substantial, although i imagine there would be some gains to be found, especially in low range torque. i bet it'd give that V8 a wicked howl though.

I mean.. it's possible.. I guess, but I think the real part of the engine that makes a difference when it comes to power is overall displacement (along with the bigger TB and fuel injectors).

intake, exhaust, blowers, timing, UDP, and even adding better ground wire can improve an engine allot, compared to over boring and stroking a motor over boring is mostly done to bring compression back up. There is much more to speed than just displacement...by adding xado oil treatment you can gain a decent amount of compression even when used in a brand new car. Displacement is only good if used effectively. Toyota and Mitsubishi have sadly shown this... truth be told i like the inline configuration over the V...

I have not seen any hard numbers on the UDP, nor has anyone really said they felt like it made a lot of difference for the people who did have it installed. If I see some #'s and it shows it's worth it, I will buy it up.

The UDP is well worth it. You may not notice it after installing but take it off and you will in a heart beat.
