My first time at New England Drag and I have to say I was very disappointed in my 95 ATX. I will have to check my 12 or 13 time slips but I believe my best run was 15.5. Frosho beat me, I believe his best, but don't quote me, was 15.3.

That's not disappointing in the least.

Your SHO managed to not explode for 13 drag runs in a row!

Yep. I was disappointed too. The rest of my 5 runs were awful. I haven't figured out how to launch this car yet. :frown:

*cough* 15.060 *cough*

I have a feeling I will be hitting 14s next time though.

I think you will too.

How about some 60' times and mods. Was that 15.0 the gen3 mtx?

Yes that was the '96 MTX, not sure what else is done to it. I want to see his 60' times and trap speeds too.

My best run was 15.337 e/t, 2.450 60', 93.75 mph. The car has a SHO Source equal-length catted y-pipe, a SHO Shop in-fender CAI, and I just put in Konis/SS Linears and ALSFB (still need to do front strut rod bushings) and a Southbend Stage 2 with a stock flywheel (which replaced a Spec disc and Fidanza fw).

You guys suck.

:moon:

There was another V running. Not a new one though.

If you get your 60' down to around a 2.1 or maybe even a 2.0 you will be alot closer to 14s. Work on your launch a little.

What was your trap speeds?

Yeah, I know. I'm still getting used to the new clutch and suspension. Before I replaced everything, I could never get much traction at launch. I would just spin off the line every time. Now that it's actually hooking, I gotta figure it out all over again. I was hooking and bogging down almost every run. I'll figure it out eventually.

My trap was 93.75 on the 15.3 run. The rest sucked (well, sucked worse)... Last year, before I did the clutch and suspension, I was trapping at 94-95 with 60' times consistently in the 2.4 range, so I know the car has more in it. I just gotta get the launch down.

My best 60' was 2.293 and I really didn't have any traction issues until mt last couple runs. It seems that when I hit 3rd gear I didn't have much power left.

Why bother going when it's warm out? Go back when then temps are below 60 degrees. Even better go when the temperature is a cold as possible but the sun is still shining to keep the track warm (for traction).

And for what it's worth, I G-tech'd my MKS rental (AWD) and it ran a 15.4 with a passenger. With a FWD Taurus I bet I could get it in the 14's on a cooler day. Guess we can't call them SLO's no more.
