I've never owned one of these cars before so i do not know much about them. I recently purchased a 94 SHO with a 3.2 in it. Plug wells are full of oil. so i pulled the upper intake with the intent of re-sealing the valvecovers and cam seals before i do plugs and wires. Unfortunatley about half of the little torx bolts holding the valveovers down are stripped so i cant get teh valvecovers off. any suggestions? and can you buy these replacement bolts anywhere??? Seems like a preyy morinic design to me.

You can buy the bolts separately. SHO Source has 'em. If you have a dremel or something to cut a slot in it, I would try that. Or, maybe try an Easy Out or something creative like welding a nut to the tops of them if it's possible. Good luck!

take a bigger torx bit and hammer it into the bolt. it worked for me one time. otherwise try a rotary tool and cut it off

Cut what off? The flush mounted heads? That makes no sense.

Try slotting them first. It's about as least destructive as you can get.

We do have the valve cover bolts and gaskets at SHO Source. It is much better to replace the valve cover gaskets then to reseal them. They are meant to be ran with no gasket material.

You can can dremel in a slot in the bolts and then undo them like a screw driver or use chisel to rotate them out.

Yeah, I wouldn't hammer on those bolts. The head that it's threaded to is aluminum and that's one piece you DON'T want to ruin the threads. Slot it and screw it.

you won't damage the threads by hammering a wrench into the head of a vc bolt that is tight, because the bolt gets tight by a shoulder tightening onto the head. the hammer blows would not have a significant impact on the threads.

however, I like the "dremel a slot in the top" idea before the "hammer a wrench into the head" idea.
