ok, I am getting ready to do the 60k on my 3.2 to get it ready for its new home.......Well, I am also going to be putting in the 3.0L cams I have lying around.

What I was wondering is do you have to shim the cams when you do this....and also....what exactly is shiming the cams?

From what I am thinking, there are shims under the cam (of couse) that basicly space the cam and the valves to a certain amount...now what I don't understand, is when you shim them, do you add more then one shim, or are there different thickness shims you use? and do you have to take the cams out to put the shims in?

SOrry if this has been discussed already, just trying to get it right so I don't have to do it again.

You do not stack the shims, there are different sized shims that you use. Also, you have to do the adjusting with the cams installed, that way you can measure the clearance. As far as getting the shims out and having the correct tools for that, there's a member her by the username of SHOBill that sells valve adjustment tools. You can probably still find his for sale ad in the classified section.
