Hey everyone, I am new here (at least to posting) I have checked in here and ther for basic info. I have a 91 mtx and have plugs that are drowning in oil. I am replacing all upper seals, yes i'm diong the 60k while i'm in there. I can't find anthing in my chilton's about a valve cover tightening sequence. This seems quite strange to me. Does anyone have the sequence or is it possible there is none?

Thanks in advance, and thanks for all the help I've gotten by being a fly on the wall.

I just tighten from the inside out. Also, use a torque wrench, and tighten to 12 ft. lbs. Any more, and you risk breaking a bolt. A very hard to replace bolt, at that.

Good luck with the 60k. :thumb:

Thanks, I appreciate all the SHO familiar advise, I fried my first SHO by being young and stupid and taking it to mechanics who said "What's that?" when they popped the hood.

A good piece of information found on the Chiltons is that if there are multiple bolts for one thing it is best to use a pattern. Most of the time a pattern is included, however when there isn't one included they say it's best to work in a diagonal fashion.

We all got that answer at a time or another.

I got my "what's that" at a Ford dealer.
