Have 1991 sho. Have read so much my eye are starting to cross. Would like to know if someone has a step by step procedure to remove/replace valve cover. I have the typical symptoms of oil in spark plug sockets. Also is it needed to get an intake set as well as the vavle cover set when doing this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

First disconnect the battery. Then you want to disconnect the DIS. There are approximatly 12 10mm bolts that hold the intake runners down. You want to remove them. You also have to remove the 14mm bolts that hold the intake supports on. THere is a large bolt on the back of the intake that you have to take off, i think it is a 15mm or 3/4. it's late so i can't remember which one it is. Next you have to remove the TB. there are four bolts that hold it on, actually 2 bolts and 2 nuts. I'm pretty sure they are 14mm also. THere are several coolant/vacume sp.? lines going to the intake/TB.You have to remove all of them to get the intake off. One of them you can't remove until you start to lift the intake up. You will also have to remove an electrical connector, i'm not sure which one it is right now. Remove any remaining bolts i forgot to mention to get the intake off. Now the intake is off. You will want to do the gaskets one side at a time. I would start with the back (the harder side). You will need a torx set to remove the valve cover bolts. I think the size is 40mm. You have to remove the plug wires and plugs to take the valve covers off. Remember the order. I found when taking the back valve cover off it's easiest when you loosen and turn the metal thing :sleep:on the fuel rail. This isn't a helms how to, but i hope it helps. Once you get the back done the front is a lot easier. Put everything back together and torque everything down to spec. Good luck. thumb
