Sorry, this is for my explorer but I'm almost certain it works like an SHO MTX CC.

It's a 93 XLT and Here is what I've checked.

Checked for leaks.
Checked the valve under the dash that gets pressed by the brake pedal, It's functional and it's being pressed all the way whne the brake pedal is up. I took apart the CC buttons, they are clean inside and so are all the connectors.
I checked the connectors on the servo and they were clean too.
I checked inside of the servo and all the wires were intact and the potentiometer was in good working order.
I checked the truck for vacuum leaks.
I put the cruise control's vacuum source on the other side of the servo. It will rev the engine.
I took the cruise control "computer" apart and checked for burnt traces or corrosion. It was perfect.

One thing I should mention is that when I bought the truck, the cruise didn't work. Turns out the valve got pressed away from the plastic piece that the brake pedal pushes it with. My CC worked for a day or two after I fixed that. Then it never worked again.

Oh and I'm driving from FL to Mass. tomorrow night :(

Unfornantly I wont be able to do anything about it till I get there if I have to buy a part. I think it's ******** how they send a signal of waves when you press the button. I was hoping for one connector for each button so I could "hotwire it" if it's the buttons.

My cruise also doesn't work. I'm going to try a new module and see if that fixes it. If not, back to the drawing board!

My cruise just up and quit one day on the mtx..checked all sw/lines..no luck..turned out to be a rusted out V band clamp on the actuator..lost vacuum..replaced it with a used part..works like a charm again...I'm in the Rust Belt though..might be worth a look guys...

FWIW, I've had the cruise die three times on my Gen 1 and Gen 2 (MTX) cars. One time was the clockspring (horn also didn't work). The other two times were a leak in the vacuum line down by the brake pedal.

Clockspring is fine, I have horn. I put a new line in down to the pedal just in case, still nothing. The valve is in good working order too.
