hey guys, I just got my buddies 99SHO, its been wrecked but the motor and trans and interior is mint, SO I am looking to transplant everything into another car. I'm thinking about saving money and transplanting everything over to a regular taurus. my only question is will a regular taurus cradle fit onto a v8? or would I have to get a cradle from another SHO?

You need the subframe and everything that goes with it from the SHO (computer, wiring harness, etc.). How badly damaged is the 99?

yo just go on ebay and find a sho that a cam went in it and buy it for less than a grand, i had to do that to get my sho, i suggest black if you can find one. good luck buddy

well, if I cant find a decent looking SHO with lower miles and a busted motor I will end up parting the car... NOOOO...(72Kwelded) so I'm gonna look around for a car first.

oh and the car was rolled.... I think the original owner is a member of the forum who lives where I do. Although I dont know his screenname, he posted about the accident but I dont know where to find it.

So, I have the recipt now for the cams being welded, its was completed for 613.34. how much would just the heads be worth then?

The SHO subframe is unique to the V8 SHO, so you'll need that to put it in a SLO. Ideally, you'll want a floor shifter car with EATC to make the wiring nightmare a little less overwhelming.

there is a guy from Iowa state who fit the SHO engine into an SE taurus, I don't have his e-mail, but you could probably do a google search on http://www.iastate.edu/ for Taurus SHO and his site will probably come up - he might be able to help you out if you do try and put it in a regular taurus.

that pic looks like it was made on the computer lol... I'm sure it shouldn't be too bad. But I still would like to have the SHO body, I donno, the motor will sit around untill I figure out what I want to do with it.. It really depends on how much money I would make if I just sold the motor...

I'm pretty sure that he was adding in the extra hp from the fuzzy dice and the pedal covers too. That should put it right around 260 hp or so. :laugh_ti:

Ok, I just found a local listing for a 97... hes asking 2500obo... the car has 150K on it, How much should I offer him for it? I know he couldn't get anymore than 1200 for it on ebay.. **** maybe only 900, I really want to get rid of the mtx, I have a welded V8 at my house I could drop right in. I called the guy and he has no clue what hes talking about, he said the cars got stock 17 3 spoke rims, I think I've talked to his wife before because she somehow found out that I bought my friends wrecked SHO and was expecting me to sell the motor for 500 and then she all of the sudden offered me 1000 and I said no. He said he paid 5K for the car and 2500obo is what hes asking, First I think he over payed 2nd **** never get 2500 for it.
