V8 blower question

What the **** is that thing running off of? I keep seeing that yellowed up, blown engine whenever I hit shoforum home, but I can't see a shaft or anything...is it running off the water pump pulley or what?

it is jackshafted from the other side of the engine and then a pully system to get the S/C spinning.

the jackshaft is hung so low unless you were directly over it you will not be able to see it.

someone could always get real creative and run their blower off th flywheel using a chain drive, at least it would never slip but the gearing woudl be a issue

but yeah his as shaft drive kind of like FPS uses in their kits.

Yes. Its run off the water pump pulley. Being, that its on the same side of the engine, and uses the same belt.

the water pump for the gen 3 is on the back of the motor, right in front of the throttle body.....

As long as you're talking creative. The flywheel could be custom made with two sets of teeth, one for the starter and one for a gear driven supercharger. I believe that method was used in some old WWII aircraft.

Yes, stock exhaust manifolds, third cat and resonator removed, Flowmaster 40's dyno'd at 426 last pull. Was only making 322 with stock fuel system. Increased the injectors from the stock 19# to 36# after modifying the lower intake since the bigger injectors are longer and would not fit under the fuel rail or the elbow the front four runners make. Bigger injectors also required a heftier fuel pump. I ended up using a 255 Welbro but didn't find out until I got it that I was also going to have to modify the fuel tank pump housing and sump screen to get it to fit. Kirk located an identical to OEM sized hi-flo/hi-press version he recently posted on the V8 list. A little extra tuning from Doug so the car would run on the extra fuel and the new 90mm Lightning MAF was a nesessity lest it look like a diesel starting up pn a cold morning only getting about 9 mpg otherwise. I pulled 30mpg with it comming back from Indy's convention last year.
