I own and administer venom.org. As such for a couple years now I have offered to host files for the community when needed and assuming they are rougly on topic to the Gen 3 SHO community (I don't have gobs of storage space however). The real purpose of doing this was to help out the v8sho list by allowing people to send me pictures, or video files, and I would serve them rather than attaching them to emails to be considerate of those on slower connections.

The picture you are linking to was sent to me among other pics by Kirk Doucette (nesho.com). I don't recollect the details of what he said was what, and never worried about it as I am not in the boat for NOS or forced induction at this time. Best bet would be to see if he or Chris can shed some light on what you are asking.

All of the files in www.venom.org/shofiles/project_rowboat are related to the MTX mod, elsewhere on my server there is no telling what old stuff you'll find.

Ok, I think I'm as confused as Scott...

3.8Lwagon, what exactly are you asking???

Scott is working on getting a manual tranny to work in his Gen3 V8 SHO. As best as I can tell, he has not brought up the subject of a fuel pump at all, and as he mentioned, there is no reason to change the fuel pump in order for a manual tranny to work with the V8 SHO motor.

The picture you've referenced deals with upgrading the fuel pump in the Gen3 SHO when changing injectors, which is completely different from the V6 SHO as well as the V6 SLO.

If you're asking a question in regard to the fuel pump on your V6 SLO, I recommend trying over at http://www.taurusclub.com as they are more geared to the non-SHO Tauruses and can probably offer you better guidance.

my screen name is from before my 3.8 was totled. i have a 2000 durtec now which would use the same design for the fuel system.
I was asking bc i found the pics on venom's server. I though those were pics from mods he has done.

I'm sure you knew that the MTX-75 had two different final drivve ratios venom [3.74 for the Focus Zetec, 4.06 for the Duratec engines]? But since you aren't going to use it, that's null and void. Good luck on the 6S tranny.

Yes, but I do have the Mazda tranny bolted to the block... It will require a spacer to get the starter and wheel in the right place. Picked up Mazda Axle's this week, need to pull them apart and do some research there this week (tripod sizes and spline info). Also need to weld mounts on the SF for the tranny, that may happen yet this week.

Patience patience...

I promise once I get everything figured out I will type of all the details and include pics. I WILL NOT haord information regarding the tricks necessary to make this work. Anyone who has the balls to do it willb e armed with the info they need.

I sent a pic out to the V8 list a week or two ago which is where I send out any updates to the status of the project, but don't have one with the spacer plate installed yet.

is there a chance of an update?

I have nothing exciting to provide right now. Just more hurdles...

There is NO EASY WAY to combine the Ford / Mazda Axles. The Ford inner CV's are tripod style, whereas the Mazda uses 6 balls in a cage. Then the outer joints, the Ford axle is 6 balls, and the Mazda is 8. And even better the splining on the shaft is bigger on the Mazda so I can't even pull the tripod off and exchange them.

Axles are going to have to be done completly by a custom shop, I was hpoing to be able to "graft" the drivers side but that is not the case.

That's all I got for now.

When updates are worthwhile they will lfow. I promise....

Finally, someone has the knowledge, resources and balls to build my dream car. Curious about the shifter, linkage and console though as I don't think anyone has discussed it. It sounds like Venom has enough Q's and How2's to answer at this point but if anyone else knows or has an idea of what his plans are for the shifter I'd be very interested. I look foreward to the finished product...

Patience guys.

Scott will post details when he gets some. With a cold garage and a new baby (in addition to 2 other kids), progress is bound to be slow.

Ian has hit the nail on the head.

Scott's not out to keep this super-top-secret information. Rest assured he'll have more to say when he finds the time.

If you're really in a hurry, don't hesitate to go ahead and try it yourself. There's no reason just to wait for one guy to do the leg work so everyone else can benefit! :thumb:

ah, correct, but there IS reason to wait for the bellhousing adapter, which is in fact one of the most important parts...

people make shift cables for fiero's all the time, i dont see why extending the contour ones would be that big of a deal.

same goes for halfshafts. i have seen custom ones before, i can guess that making custom ones for this app wouldnt entirely be impossible....
