Hi folks...for some reason my Ipod connection seems screwed up. I'm using the Apple connection cable with the USB plug to run it in the SHO, and this morning it simply decided to die. Was working fine until I tried to change tunes...
I've had this happen before, in both this car and in my 2011 Edge. This action would usually precede the Black Screen Of Death, followed by the "Reboot" screen saying that "Sync is performing routine system maintenance" or something like that. The system seems to reboot itself, and then all's well. But this time, the system's not doing it. It was corrected in the Edge after I got the dealership to replace the head unit completely. I figured the '13s would have the problem licked.
Back to the problem at hand. All other functions for the Sync head unit are working fine; I can change between functions (Audio--->Nav---> Phone--->Climate Control) without a problem. But whenever I go to the USB connection for the Ipod, it freezes. The system says that my Ipod is connected...but it keeps showing that it's connected, even when I unplug it. I've tried changing between USB ports---no luck. Tried leaving the USB connected but disconnecting the Ipod at it's own plug---no luck.
I really want to find this gremlin and kick its ass. Anybody have any ideas?
