Well, my Chilton lists the torque specs for the valve covers to be between 7-12 lb/ft of torque. I wouldn't torque more than 10 lb/ft.The spark plugs to between 17-22 lb/ft, but go for about 20. These are aluminum heads were talking about.....good luck..

Wow, a Hayne's manual quotes 6-10 ft. lbs. for the spark plugs. My chiltons is still at the shop but I thought it recommended more for the intake, maybe not though.

I have emailed you the procedure for the valve gapping, but the relevent steps are shown here.

25. Set the gap of the new Motorcraft AGSP32PP spark plugs to 0.044" (0.042" - 0.046"). Since the plug gaps can only become greater during use, it is advised to gap them to the small end of the range, or 0.042". Install the washers on the plug threads with the wide side of the ****** facing the head and the narrow side facing the plug seat.

26. Remove the spark plugs with a 5/8" plug socket and sufficient extensions.

27. Apply anti-seize compound to the threads of the new spark plugs and install them with a torque of 17-19 lb-ft (204-228 lb-in). It is recommended that the plugs be installed prior to gapping the valves to prevent allowing any foreign material from entering the cylinders.

45. Install the spark plug wires. The Motorcraft wires for the 3.0L are marked with the plug number and should be installed to the cylinder and coil pack connector as indicated. Be careful that the order of the plug wires on the coil pack is not sequential. See the diagram below. The wires for the 3.2L do not include the plug number and you may need to compare the lengths of the new wires against the old wires to determine the correct plug to route them to. Apply dielectric grease to the inside of the boots at both ends of the wires. Snap the wires into the routing clips provided on the valve covers and intake manifold. Also install the three-wire clip under the throttle body.
