Ok here's my current list of ideas to do to my car, I'd like the experienced group to input on it:

-Full new set of 225 55 16 Goodyear Assurance TripleTred Tires
-Re-painting the B and C Pillars black as well as the mirrors.
-Fish Tank Mod.
-Installing the stock spoiler from my friend's 94 (even though mine is a 92).
-Replacing gauges in pods with something preferrably blue-lit

That's all I have so far. Mostly I'm looking for opinions, specifically, on the tires that I've chosen to put on (I have 4 mis-matched 225 60 16s on there now, one is a 215 65 16). Secondly, I'm trying to do cost-effective upgrades, where would you go next? Clutch grabs well, exhaust is passable for now, tires will be dealt with, and I just got a new front end (bearings, hubs, axles), so whats next?

:thankyou:

OH and here's a few pics as it sits now:

I would suggest new rod bearings--cheap, easy(?) and gives you a foundation to build on, the rest will mean nothing if you spin a bearing due to mileage/wear.
you do expect to "stick your foot" in it once in a while I'm sure.

all new headlights and clear corners work wonders for the gen2.

also, repaint your wiper cowl, wiper arms, side view mirrors. that will make a world of difference.

I would definatly repaint those pillars and mirrors. I did mine in a gloss black and it did wonders. against your white 92, that should look great

It looks to me like there is some rust forming around the rear wheel well. Honestly before putting anything aftermarket on the car i would suggest taking care of the rust. 10 years down the road you will thank yourself for repairing the rust.

Since these pictures have been taken my girlfriends father and I have taken some rubbing compound and a buffing wheel to them, they seem to be performing just fine...the clear corners though....I like that idea.

Lower that puppy!

The suspension, from what I've been told, is relatively new. It rides extremely well, so I'm going to keep that truck height up front, but thanks for the idea! :D

Already have plans in motion to hack off a quarter from another car and welding it onto this one.

buy some diffrent tires unless your gettting a **** of a deal on the goodyears.

Why? 80K warranty, rated best tire in the snow (for the money and the fact that ts NOT a winter tire), rated the best tire during rain, consistently in the top 3 of reviews for the last few years, and I can afford them, so what would hold me back?

First, fix whatever is wrong with the quarter panels. Being open like that will accelerate it rusting-out, and introducing rust into other parts of the interior (ie. the trunk).

Skip the tripple-treads. I had them, and they began to hydro-plain badly even before reaching the wear-bars.

:burnout:

Depends what you're looking for in a tire. What is the climate like where you live? What kind of driving do you do? Are you willing to have a set of winter tires and summer tires?

I have bridgestone portenza g019's i believe is the model. And i LOVE them.. When we were doing that charity lap at the convention i took some sharp turns and had it to the floor with the wheel cranked to the left up a hill and i wasnt getting ay chirp out of them.. It really gets the power to the ground well.. Best 500 bux ive spent on a car!

Was your SHO lifted?? I would take care of that!

take care of the rust too. I have some forming and i have all the stuff i need to tackle it.

I live in Michigan, so, as you could imagine, the climate is everything. The winters around here do suck though.

No, I will not purchase two sets of tires, just one.

I can't pull the trigger on those bridgestones, just too new, same as the goodyear fuel max tires.

No, my SHO was not lifted.

Rust is on the list of things to take care of.

I've had great luck with Kumho tires over the years. Well priced, and a very good quality tire. I was just looking on Tire Rack, the Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum looks like a good bargain. I would say either those or the Generals will be fine. I would stick with the stock size though. 225's are too wide for those rims and sometimes look funny. Like muffin top jeans on a fat chick. Plus the narrower tire will be better in the snow.

Decided on a set of Kumho Ecsta ASX in 225 55ZR16.

$483 out the door for a 420 AA A 95W tire that gets relatively good ratings year round is not too bad.

ok...so Discount Tire messed up and didn't get the tires I ordered on Tuesday in stock in time (although they claimed they would be), so I spoke with the manager, simply stating that if I'm to spend $500 at any business, I would hope they would put the effort in to earn that much.

He rewarded me with a set of Bridgestone Potenza RE960 Pole Position tires in the size I wanted (225 55 16) at the same cost as the Kumho Ecsta ASX ($482.90 OTD). So I told him I would call him back, as I needed to do my research. Come to find out that specific Potenza is the second best rated tire in the "Ultra High Performance All-Season" category on Tirerack.com, so I jumped at the chance (they usually go for around $680/set in that size installed). Called him back, set up the appointment, got them installed.

MAN do these tires ROCK. If you ever get a chance to pick up a set, I HIGHLY recommend them, second only, IMHO, to the Goodyear Assurance TripleTred (which I still think is a high quality, beautiful (looks alone), well handling tire).

1. Fix the rust!
2. Leave it without a spoiler. 92 was the only gen 2 not to get one and sets them apart from the rest.
3. Restore/upgrade the suspension.

1. Agreed, already working on welding a new rear quarter panel on the driver's side.
2. I like the spoiler too much to let it sit without it, besides, I could always just go pick up a new trunk if I don't like it.
3. The suspension is all new on this car (or so I've been told). While it does ride just a tad rough, I don't feel it necessates a new suspension.

By the way, the Bridgestone Potenzas I was given this weekend at the cost of $482.90 OTD from DIscount Tire (a mistake on their part) handle AWESOMELY and I couldn't be any happier!
