Upgraded cable shifter ball joints?

Has anybody used metal ball joints on their cable ends? These things have a ton of slop and break/melt on our exhaust system.

Can't swap to rod shifter, we are rear motor.

There is one for the shifter end and one for the gearbox end.

Well I ordered both and will have to see if the shifter end will work at the gearbox for the select cable. That is the one that forces me to jam my arm through hot exhaust pipes in the middle of the race.
