Update On shifter

So I bought the Shifter and also the clevis repair kit. They both had their difficulties but the shifter was for sure the hardest part. (Especially with just one person) I was able to get all the parts to fit into the clevis and as I go to put the new bolts and nuts on, the nut wouldn't go on. They were locking nuts and I ended up getting shipped the wrong nuts so I went to Oreillys and bought a few nuts for $2.30. Got that fixed and spent about 3 hours on the shifter alone because I couldnt get the middle section of my exhaust off. It was RUSTED shut. Finally my brother got home and had him help me. Still had trouble with it, but with both of us, it was able to come off. And all of it was replaced. I drove it and the shifting felt tight which was a great feeling. Im still having trouble shifting into gears. Second gear is the hardest of them all. So Ill buy a clutch off ebay for a good $150 and hopefully it will work. The repair manual for my car tells me I wont have to use an engine hoist or anything. So I guess it will be easier than I though. Just thought I should put let everyone know!

Probably the least expensive clutch you'll find new. You will need a way to support the engine for sure, the subframe has to come out (which the engine is mounted to) to get the transmission out.

If you thought it was hard getting the mid exhaust section apart, just wait until you have the remove the nuts coming from the exhaust manifold that hold the y-pipe on. The clutch will NOT be easier than you thought. It does require an engine hoist and requires a lot of work.

Thats the part I had to remove. It was all rusted and such. Took 2 of us to get it off because it was so rusted.

i was looking at that clutch and wondered about. i'm intersted to hear how it works out. also, rockauto had closeout release bearing if they are still there. not the good ones, but for those on a budget...

Since Im on a budget Ill buy the ebay clutch that he posted. And see how it works. Hopefully it will fix my shifting problems.

Sorry about that. It was the flex tube/muffler. The piece that connects the flex tube to the Y pipe was rusted out. That was the one that took two people just to get it apart.
