Update on problems with new '93 ATX

to recap:
I just picked up a '93 ATX in great condition, but with a couple of bugs.
All the electic gauges didn't work when i got it. it was sudjested that i check fuse #18 wich i did. the fuse tester i was using said it was good. so i thought it was wireing. it wasn't, rechecked the fuse with a test light and it was bad. gauges work fine now.

Problems i still have and need help on.

1)still can't get the old broken antenna mast out. i removed the large crome nut on top, but the mast won't come out.

2)O/D button doesn't do anything. O/D light is not on on the dash and car is in O/D mode because it uses all 4 gears.

anyone got any advise on either of these???

Pull the inner fender liner out and you wil beable to get the whole mast out. It's easier to work on that way. Most likely the wire that goes to the button is broken. From what I have heard they break easily. Try removing to console top and checking the wiring.

To answer #2; the wire to the O/D button inside the shifter is probably severed. It is pretty common, and if you go to SHOtimes.com its got a pretty good explination of how to get the shifter off. Hope that helps! (it did in my case)

For #1, you need a 14 mm deepwell to remove the recessed barrel nut. Then you can remove the mast.
