I need a cam chain tentioner for my 93 atx, I need the back right one and ford has discontinued it. Should I take it out of my wrecked SHO with 140k? The main problem is I was driving the other day and my car stalled, while driving. I couldnt restart it so I had it towed to my house. Not having any time to work on it I went to work. I came home and thought maybe it will start. It DID! So I shut it off. I went to start it again and it didnt. I had this problem before and it turned out to be the Coolant Temp Sensor had blown out. But I had that replaced no more then 1500 miles ago. Also its not leaking coolant on to the CPS. DIAGNOSE ME!

What happens when it doesnt start? Does it make a clicking noise? Do the lights work before and after you try to start it?

It could be your battery being low, could be the starter selenoid not kicking in, it could be the starter itself. The symtoms the car shows when trying to start it will help narrow it down.

and what happened that you need a cam chain tensioner?

i need the cam tentioner because the rear cam chain has play in it, enough so that it sometimes rubs against the metal guard above it. also the car turns over fine, so the battery and starter are all up to par.

Have you tried pressing the gas pedal when turning the key when it doesnt start?

This is not really meant to add gas (even though it probably does), but to open up the butterflies to let air in if your IAB/IAC (idle air bypass) is stuck closed.

Have you had any problems with idling? (leads to the IAB) Any problems while driving? (fuel pump)

How old is your CPS? Even though you don't have any coolant leaking on it, they still go bad. This happened to me, as you described in your first post, that it wouldn't start at one time, and it would at another. Check your codes if you have any stored
