Do any of you guys know about this issue?

My top cable broke and I need to know where to get one. The Ford guy gave me a part number and a telephone number of a shop in Tenn. That guy told me the part number I got from the local Ford dealer was for an 89' with a dealer installed Cruse control (mine is factory), and he didn't show a two piece cable. Then the local guy says he thinks the other guy is wrong. He says that the cable he shows is 29 inches and I should just take the whole cable off and measure it. I would rather have the right information first and the right cable on hand before I pull out the old one.

Any of have any knowledge about this and/or can tell me where to get a new cable?

Thanks,
Bryansong

It is a 2 piece cable there is a upper and lower section. You could use an upper one from a regular Taurus, it will be longer though but it can be done.

Longer one from a taurus will break rather fast because of the sharper bend.............been there done that! I recently pulled one off of an 89 in a junk yard.

I'm currently running the longer upper cable from the ATX on my MTX (ATX to MTX swap). It does have a fairly sharp bend right above where the two cables meet. I'd like to swap it out soon, but I'm reluctant to have to crawl up under the dash again so soon.

How had is it to swap the cables?
