does the sho use the same o2 sensor type for both front/rear exaust pipes or do you use different types of sensors (or different part numbers at least) for each pipe?

when i called the ford dealer the parts guy was surprised to see 2 different part numbers (both were same price) and he went and checked the difference between them.. supposedly one has a larger metal housing sticking out from the bung than the other?

seems its not simply a wire length issue.

so whats the deal?

Don't know about Ford numbers, but aftermarket ones, which are cheaper, have the same numbers for the front and rear, considering it's the same car. 3.0 and 3.2's have different numbers...3.0's have 3 prong connectors and 3.2's are 4 prong, IIRC.

Oh dear, I just installed 15716 x 2 - is that a problem? The rear was a PITA!!!!!
I ran the codes...they are all virtually gone (except 538). I have yet to eperience the gas mileage tonight-with a trip down to NJ.

Thanks.
