Just picked up my 2013 SHO last weekend, and the only grip I have so far is with the turn signal. To engage it, it seems to take an abnormal amount of force, and more often than not I end up flashing my brights at oncoming traffic trying to get the thing to stick.

Anyone else having this issue, and if so what did you do to fix it? It's a demo vehicle and it came with almost 6k miles, so I don't think this is something that just needs to get broken in (unless the previous drivers of the vehicle never used their turn signals)...

Thanks in advance...

Normal operation. Once you get adjusted to it - it will be less noticeable.

What you say is true. The signal does require more force than others I have had but after a month of driving it you won`t even notice. Actually, if they designed the signal to operate that way I do wish they had increased the pressure needed to actuate the bright flash, but they didn`t.

I'm always flashing people when making right turns. I must also make more lefts because it seems like it's getting less difficult to signal for a left turn.

After driving the SHO I get into the wife`s 2014 Mazda 6 and I try to break the turn signal stalk off when I signal.:angelnot:

I go between 2011 Edge and my 2013 SHO. For aome reason the Edge has little or no resistance, but the SHO has a lot of positive feedback..... Go from one extreme to another, so by 2015 they should get it right. .........LOL

Same problem in my wifes Explorer. Once you get used to it, it makes sense. I like the momentary, but to actually turn it on (either direction) requires a bit of force.

... and here I'm thinking I'm the only one thinking "Why the **** is it so stiff to engage?"

Thanks for your input. I've driven a lot of cars over the past 25 years and have never had this much trouble adjusting to something lile this. What makes it worse is I have a few more months before my lease is up on my other car, so I'm driving each alternately - and that one has a syrup smooth turn signal stalk.

Well I personally didn't really notice this, but now since reading this thread, I keeping noticing it every time I turn. :p So it is definitely tougher to engage, but I've gotten used to it at least. :)

lol...me too. I've gotten to where I just do the quick 3 time signal a few times unless it is a left turn.

Easy Solution... DON'T USE THEM!! If you are going faster than traffic, they are just useless to others! Besides, you are just burning the bulbs out faster...

AND... it certainly makes life more exciting!!!!! LOL
