Been TwEECing the turbo a bit, and here is what I found out today. Start of, my fuel pump would not work! Say what?!?! I thought I fixed this already. After a little investigation, the wire (actually the fusible link) just below the CCRM had come undone ( I removed the link and hardwired it a while back). Well, I decided for insurance to put a fuse back in, and got that all together, then tightened my leaking radiator hose (not so good when it was spraying coolant onto the turbine and hot pipes!). Topped off the radiator and went for a drive.

Car was idling okay, but when I would try to rev it, it was quite rough. Exactly the cause I do not know, but it may have to do with the NASTY old fuel in it (from last OCT). Once I get to about half tank I am going to fill up with premium and put in some HEET, and replace the filter. Anyway, my latest program had the MAF curve richened 3% over stock, had my WOT x @ .7 all the way accross the board, in addition to me scaling the high slope @ 44 (with the 47 firehoses I have, I think that makes it even richer). Well, it seemed I was still going lean as soon as I would hit boost.

After toying with it for some time, I just decided to go WOT and see what would happen. Well my leaning out issue is no issue at WOT. As soon as I hit it, after a quick bog (if at lower rpms), it built full boost (WG spring is a .5 bar, about 7 psi) very quick, and I was below 11:1 until about 6500rpm. So, looks like I can remove some of my WOT x.

Anyway, with my finally able to go WOT, I could see what my WG was doing. I turned my boost controller off to see what my WG setting was,a nd as you read above, looks to be a .5 bar spring in it. In 3rd, held @ 7-8psi pretty well. In 5th, I saw it creep up to almost 9psi (at that point WB was about 11.5). So, I think that was actually boost creep, not the actual spring setting. This is a 38mm WG, smaller than my last one, and it will not flow as much air past it. I am running this why? Hehe, even with the 7psi spring, with my boost controller on overtake boost, and with the properties of the 38mm gate, I should be able to see higher boost levels than ever. Want to see what a turbo SHO does on they dyno with 18psi?!?! (besides grenading the trans! HA). Hopefully we will find out soon.

So, she is cooling down right now as I am preparing to install my FPR. While the 90's are suppossed to be more tolerant of the problems associated with high output fuel pumps, I will feel much better about my pressure after the FPR is on, and it will likely make tuning a much more precise discipline. Also, my ECT switch is bad I think. Fan would not come on. Not sure if the switch being bad would cause other problems as well, but that will get replaced soon. AND and alignment. Holy Hannah! when boost hits in 3rd the TQ steer is crazy! There will always be some, but when the car is not aligned correctly it is exacerbated.

Stay tuned for more updates. Nice to have things finally coming together. And for those waiting for GEN II hoods or pics or payments or parts or anything else, it will come. With my recent engagement, buying a house, remodeling (VERY extensively I might add) my parents house, and finally getting my car in order, I am WAY behind. I only have a few months to get everything in order before my wedding (and that includes planning and taking my BACHELOR road trip, hopefully in the turbo, as it is hungry for some a race with a certain boosted Z06). So, I apologize for any prolonged waiting that has been incurred. Please be patient with me. Later.

Great to hear, but I would rather see what a Turbo SHO could make on 20 psi

You should make that bachelor road trip up to this area, too. Theres a GTP I would love to see smoked.

what sfb are you using? you could be compressing the ruber bushings thus inducing tq steer.

If I ever win the lotto I'll be showing the world 25psi

Toolman what compression is your car running right now? (just curious)

What type of fuel filter and line are you running exactly? I'm a big fan of stuff like these for built engines.

Hard to argue with 90GPH capabilitly, plus it couldn't be any easier to change the filmet.

Throw in some nice aluminium hose.

Sweet 9:1, you better SHO some numbers

That filter I posted, it's not small, it's hmm about 5 inches tall, and 4 inches wide or so... I've been using one in a 69 GMC with a built motor, and old gas tanks, so far no problems what so ever.... Plus it couldn't be any easier to change, just unbolt the top and pull the bottom off, and replace filmet, put back on. Gas doesn't go every where as bad. Let me see if I got a picture..... er guess I can take one. Nevermind camera batterys are dead hahaha.

Ok I got some photos. I'm going to get one for my SHO when I change the fuel filter I think. Man these things are nice to have! Ignore the fuel pump by it :)

That filter may not work on Fuel injected car. The jegs description said 90 gallons at 5 psi, it is just a filter though, however. But its something to be considered.

Boy do I want to see this match up. Boosted ZO6 vs seriously boosted turbo SHO. Speedometers should be pegged in this match up. BTW Tim you need to get a higher reading speedo. Maybe a conversion to the digi dash from a sable like Jelloslug will help out. Watch the speed digits rapidly rise in a digital dash is pretty cool in its' own regard. You guy should go to the salt flats and duke it out or find a nice abandoned airstrip. ;) Make sure it is covered on video.

I'm done.....For now.....
