we think we might have a plan for this particular pipe. I think we can cut the stock maf in half and cut out the bottom of the air box and make it loock like the stock air box is still in place. very sneaky :)

now we are getting to the tricky part, routing the rear bank exhaust through this extremely tight area.

I am going to cut the stock Y-pipe after the O2 for the rear bank just before it bends going into the cat and rotate the 90 deg bend so it heads directly for the driver side of the car. this pipe will esentially hug the tranny pan (heat wrapped of course)

this is a pic of the rear of the engine/tranny with the Y-pipe removed

this is a pic of the driverside rear of the tranny pan. the pipe will mka ea sharp 90deg bend to hug the pan and will have a support bracket here.
normal_IMG_1290.jpg

I don't have a good pic of what i needed but once the pipe is at the front of the transmission it will make a 45deg angle and go up and twords the pass side and go over teh subframe and pass through here

normal_IMG_1292.jpg

the rear bank will now go between the subframe and body so the hot pipe will be behind the radiator where it will join with the front bank.

moved the camera to the left from the pic above

i'm not even going to try and explain the way i'm running the intake side for the compressor side its a mess.

looks like you still have some work cut out for you there. it will probably rip though when it's done.

I wish you would have picked a different color car to start with though. I was going for originality.

are you going to run the O2's on the pressure side of the turbine??? anyway, I was lucky to find a chunk-o-pipe ready made for this, you could do the same with a 45* mandel bend cut and twisted on itself:

Looks nice. Are you gonna cut a hole in the bumper cover for the intake of the turbo? A lot of turbo mustangs are doing that and it looks awesome.

yes the O2's will be on the pressure side 1 front bank one rear bank then the wide band will probably be after the turbo.

on the bottom of your pic is where my 3" turbo back will travel through.

my intake pipe is going to be a mess, it is actually going to snsap into the front bumper just under the vents and it will travel across the front of the car and the maf and filter will be on the driver side where the charcol canaster is and the canister will be mounted inside the stock airbox.

I am trying to find some sort of rubber hose to use to run across the bumper but i'm having a tough time finding something that is somewhat flexable but still is ridgid enough not tro collapse under the very slight vaccume that it will have.

IIRC, you can ditch the canister. Just have to plug the lines on the intake.

Allthough, im not sure if that inline sensor will throw a code. IIRC, Tim ditched it.

You haven't been paying attention then!!! Corey(1slickred89) owns a GREEN TURBO ATX.

This is one of his threads, unfortunately the pics are not working.

right, I take the pics down as a thread dies. but the homepage listed with shoforum is always up. a search of my latest posts will inevitably lead to a shameless post with my pictures in it.

what is this 'turbo' you speak of.

looked at your website, it's really nice too. I did see something odd though, whats up with all those little holes in the compressor housing?

it is called a ported shroud. when innovative tuning explained it it made sence but it is soposed to reduce/eliminate boost spikes

and there is a LOT more work ahead of me. its kind of funny you guys get all of the cool pics and inside info on teh projects where the local racing forums only got 2 pics :)

Holy ****! You are building the exact kit I talked about doing almost 1 year ago! Check the turbo/supercharger forum like 4 pages back. The turbo is kinda small but it will work. That is the best place for the turbo. Air cooled! BTW what are you doing for oil evacuation from the turbo back to the oil pan since it can gravity drain? Are you doing a electric oil pump? This kit needs to be produced when you are finished. I want to see how you get the 2.5" down pipe back to the exhaust tunnel. I hadn't quite had the chance to work that out since my planning started after the car was torn apart.
Now the make turbo heat blanket that wraps around the turbune side and heat wrap that will wrap the turbo feed pipes and down pipe. They also make an adhesive dynomat typer material that completely blocks heat from itself and can be put in the bumper cover to keep the cover from melting under the heat the turbo can make. Are you putting the wastegate on the feed pipe before the turbine inlet and feed back to the dump pipe? That will keep it out of harms way and keep it clean. You might want to ceramic coat your manifolds to help keep under hood temps down and help with spoolup. Wrap the new turbo y-pipe or ceramic coat it too to helpthe temp and spool situatuion.

I have tons of ideas because I am on the verge of actually doing it myself.

2.5" downpipe? try 3" downpipe from the turbo. no i am going to try it with out a pump because the turbo is above oil level by 8-10" if i need one i'll get one but i'm going to try without.
