tune up...
whats YOUR definition of a tune up?

yes, it does help to remove the intake.

My interpretaion of a tune up is, New plugs/wires, VC gaskets Plug seals, CID, CPS, and a good intake cleaning. possibly a water pump.

Whats yours?

yes the '60K tune up!'

thats about when the normal tune up parts are due, so you might as well do the routine maintenance while you are there. the plugs are platinums, so they go that far, the wires are good for that far. the water pump can start leaking at anytime after 60 k, and the 2 major sensors(cam and crank) stand a very good chance of leaving you guessing at the side of the road i you dont do them too. the crank seal, cam seals (3), timing belt, and lower rad hose with a coolant flush are due basically near the 90k mark, and you are there while doing the water pump and sensors, so its wise to do those then as preventative maintenance.

oh yes its a very good idea to do valve cover gaskets with new plugwell seals, and pull the intake apart for a good cleaning at that time.

well its like this...you can do about 2-3 tune ups on a chevy cavalier (recomended every 15-20 k right?) before its time to do one on your SHO. this is due to the platinum plugs used in the sho...

and the 60K service is recomended at this time...or else you can just wait for things to act up. im not sure, but i would say that when my front 60k was done last fall, everything was original equipment/from the factory...with 200kKM on it...
