going to get some catless downpipes and know they will throw a code from the o2 down stream sensor. I have not bought a tuner yet and was wondering if I get the power pack from Gear head if I get it before or after the downpipes. Whish I could get both of them all at once. And which is better the sct 4 or the livewire one

You will have to get the o2 sensor defoulers as GH will not turn off the rear o2 sensors in their tune. SPD makes some of the best ones for the money.

I might disable it with forscan or atleast try and increase allowable parameters. Going to go into it and see what I can do

I just got a livewire after having the sct4 for about the last 3 years. Livewire is much better for watching gauges, you can have more things on the screen and still be able to read them. The only downside to the livewire is it takes about 35 seconds after you plug it in to be able to do anything. The SCT4 is pretty much instantaneous.

Livewire is a bit faster at loading tunes. It would usually take about 10-12 minutes to load a tune on the SCT4, the Livewire is a little under six minutes.

I would definitely go tune first as that will totally change the vehicle, but you might want to wait a week or two and see if they have some Christmas deals. They had a heck of a deal on the livewire for black Friday.

Definitely tune first, but talk with whatever tuner you go with to make sure they will support your decision for catless. Some won't touch ANYTHING when you're catless, some will do the performance benefits but not turn off the CEL.

Downpipes are one of the best mods you can get for your car and should net you 0.3 seconds in the quarter. If they don't, ask your tuner for a revision to take advantage of them.

Also, keep in mind that some software allows you to turn off the CEL reporting for the rear sensors, but the emissions testing will see this as a 'non report' and still fail.

Just because the CEL isn't on, doesn't mean it will pass if tested.

Usually an easy test on this is to pull codes and see if a P1000 shows up. It won't pop a CEL but it's a nanny code to easily tell if you aren't in "System Readiness" mode.
