That's weird - I was just gonna post the same question....

My 93 MTX - finally back from the shop after 6 months of them trying to fix the electrical problem - is running pretty swell right now. But I am still having a "chuggin" problem - usually in 3rd or 4th gear on the highway when I go to accelerate. The car jolts a bit then kicks in.

I had this problem originally - they said it was spark plug cables. It worked fine after that for a few weeks and then the problem progressively came back. So they put new cables on and then it was fine. I just recently got a new timing belt and CPS - which is making the car run great (just got it back yesterday) - but it's still having the chugging problem....is this possibly the transmission "slipping"? Please Help someone...

much thanks

Hey I have that same chuggin problem in my 93 atx i think it has something to do with the overdrive not working on my car. what kind of symptoms did your car have before you replaced the cps?

Well, I had the chugging problem - which I was hoping was the CPS - but now that the car is back - it's still doing it (less extensively, but still doing it...)

so I am hopping that chugging is not "slipping" from the transmission.....but I don't know

Well lets see, the first thing you would notice is that it is an ATX. Then you will realize that you have't replaced it in a year. So it is about time

I know what "chugalug" means.

Seriously, the problem must be in the ignition system. Because, when new wires were installed, the SHO performed ok for a short period. Check all the wires pertaining to this, not just the ones for spark plugs.
