My 94 atx shifts good when cold, no problems! Has 152k, fluid still red but sat for 7 years! After driving for about 30 mins ( warm) when I get to a red light acts like not in gear! As soon as I rev it slams into gear and only does this warm! Is the trans going out or could it B something else?

I also found out that if I down shift to first it has no problems! Please I need to know what I can do before it really messes up the trans.

most likely has very hard rubber seals from sitting for that long.

I would try a fluid change to see if new fluid w/ new additives will soften up the seals so they work right. you may need to drive it for a month or two to see the effect. if not, then a rebuild is in order.

I know some people seem against the stuff, but my regular taurus slo had the same problem from sitting. I did fluid and filter change and put a quart of Lucas Oil transmission fix in it and it was fine for years after. Can try that.

If the seals have hardened from sitting this stuff will work wonderfully. (as it is what it is designed for) If the tranny is just really on its last limbs it wont do to much and its just time to start saving up.
